Who we are
Fiendish Imp is a small, independent clothing brand and manufacturer based in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. The company is owned and operated by Emese Dome, who mostly creates our handmade line of products, and Christoph Sushnyk, who designs our t-shirts and operates our websites and social media channels, though both have access to the site and all associated accounts. You can reach us easily by visiting our Contact page or by sending a message to firstname.lastname@example.org
Throughout this document we will refer to our website (https://gimp.fiendishimp.com/) as Fiendish Imp, or simply the/our website or site.
Data we collect, and why we collect it
Cookies and Browsing Data
When you visit Fiendish Imp we automatically collect some information about your device, including details about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your system.
Additionally, as you browse our website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to our site, and information about how you interact with our site.
The information collected in this manner is anonymous, used primarily to improve your browsing experience, and it also provides us with demographic data and search statistics we can use to better understand our visitors.
We will not use this data to identify you.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment, and these cookies will last for one year. We also collect your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string to help prevent spam.
If you have an account and you log in to our site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded as soon as you close your browser. Once you are logged in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Comments and Contact Forms
When you post comments on our site we collect all of the data shown in the comments form, along with your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string to help prevent spam.
When you use a contact form on our site the information you enter is stored in a database on our server, and a copy is sent to our site’s administrators via email. We also record your IP address alongside your submission. We do not use the information you submit by our contact forms for marketing purposes, and we won’t contact you about anything unrelated to your submission without your expressed permission.
Purchase and Order Data
When you place an order through our website, or enter your information in your account dashboard, we store all of the data you enter on our servers—with the exception of your credit card information, which is never processed or stored on our website.
This data may include your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and the details of your order and the products you have purchased.
We record this information so that we can fulfill your order, and to make future purchases simpler.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment on our site, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you register on our website, we also store the information provided in your user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (excepting your username, which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.
Purchase data is stored indefinitely, and will only be removed from our servers at your request.
What rights you have over your data
If you have a user account on our site, have made any purchases, posted comments or used a contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you at any time. You can also request that we erase any personal data of yours we hold. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
For any and all requests relating to privacy, simply visit our Contact page. You can let us know if you would like a copy of your data, want to have your data removed, or if you have any other requests or questions regarding your data.
Who we share your data with
We will never give or sell your data to third-parties for marketing purposes. However, some third-parties gain access to limited data for necessary functions of our website, and we have outlined all such instances below.
We offer PayPal and Stripe as options for our customers when making purchases through our website. When you complete your order we send your name, email address, physical address, the total cost and currency of your purchase, any optional information you include in the order form, as well as a unique payment identifier to the payment processor of your choice.
We use Google Analytics to anonymously track your activity while you are using our website, which helps us to better understand our visitors and make improvements to our services. In order to do this, Google creates cookies on your device and records information relating to your location, the pages you visit, and the way you interact with our content.
Google will not give your data to third parties unless required to do so by law, and does not include your IP address in the data they retain.
We use a Facebook Pixel to track events on our web pages, such as purchases and additions to your wishlist and shopping cart. The data Facebook collects in this way is used by Fiendish Imp to better understand customer behavior, and to serve targeted advertisements for our products on Facebook and Instagram.
When you post comments or use contact forms on our website, we send some data to Akismet to help detect spam. This data includes your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, the page of our website you are currently on (as well as the referring page, where applicable), along with any information you enter into the comment or contact forms themselves.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you such as your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string, they can create cookies on your device, and potentially monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
We are very careful about the content we embed from third-party websites, and we limit their ability to collect data about you where possible.
For all concerns relating to privacy, please visit out Contact page or send a message to email@example.com. Any submission relating to privacy will be read by Christoph Sushnyk, our Data Protection Officer, and responded to as quickly as possible.
